Our newest obsession is old-fashioned games with a new twist. Mad Cave Bird Games, the creator of Colorku, has made several other games worthy of mentioning. All their board games are made from quality wood and designed to stimulate the brain. Whether you are trying to exercise your visual perception, critical thinking, memory and focus, hand-eye-coordination, or logic and reasoning these games will help you build that mental strength!
Colorku is one of those rare games that exercises all four lobes in the brain. This is basically Sudoku using colors instead of numbers. By making that simple switch, the difficulty level increased and requires players to exercise visual perception as well as critical thinking. This game is especially helpful for elders exercising their hand-eye-coordination and memory. Of course, the colorful balls on a classic wooden board also makes a terrific display piece for the coffee table.
Tic Tac Ku is a twist to the original Tic Tac Toe. Instead of 3 X 3 board, it is a large 9 X 9 board. Honored for Excellence by Mensa, Tic Tac Ku takes strategy and planning to the next level. With each turn, instead of just playing where your marble goes you also choose which of the nine boards your opponent must play their next move. This makes you divide your attention between where you play and how to undermine your opponent’s chances of winning.
22 Ku-Du is a mathematics crossword game where the goal is to get the row to add up to 22. This is the our least favorite of the set and didn’t capture our attention as much. But, if you have a math enthusiast this may be more appealing to him / her.
