School is out and summer weather is finally here to stay. Summer is the perfect time to get your kids out and enjoy the great outdoors. Being active is also healthy for kids: helps with strong muscle and bone development, helps kids sleep better, establishes a foundation to be active as adults, maintaining a healthy weight, improve social skills, and so much more! With that, we are writing up on some of our all-time favorite outdoor / summer / beach toys.
Strider Bikes - These bikes are the ultimate bikes to develop balance, coordination, and confidence in children. Once your child masters these bikes, they can participate in some local, regional and even the Strider Cup (think World Cup) races for some friendly competitive racing.
Stomp Rocket - The Stomp Rocket is the answer to moms with very active kids. This has been a favorite of kids for a long time, combining kids’ two favorite things: stomping on things, and throwing things in the air. Great for backyard parties or just a playdate at the playground, this is bound to garner a lot of excitement.
Crayola 48 Count Sidewalk Chalk - Release your child’s inner Michelangelo or Da Vinci with this set of sidewalk chalk. From hopscotch courts to a large drawing canvas on your driveway, this is probably the best value considering the hours of fun and entertainment this provides.
Zing Air Huntress - With popular movies like Brave and The Hunger Games, girls everywhere are really getting into archery. This foam bow and arrow set is the perfect outdoor toy for your little Meridas and Katnisses to practice their aim. The Zing Air Huntress is capable of shooting as far as 125 feet. Oh and the sonic whistle arrows (it actually whistles) is a nice touch.
Swimways Baby Spring Float Activity Center with Canopy - Now, mommy and baby can both enjoy the relaxing and cool pool during those long summer days. This floating center is equipped with an interactive play station with activities for every developmental stage and an adjustable, removable canopy for sun protection.
Little Tikes Cozy Coupe - Little kids love to mimic things adults do and driving is definitely one of them. This is a great toy to have in the backyard of for when they want to “drive” to the playground. When their little legs are tired, just place the detachable floor on and mom can push them home. We also recommend Cozy Trailer to trolley around their toys. And check out how Mom Made DIY his son's Cozy Coupe into a John Deere Cozy Coupe.
Diggin Squap - This is the newest twist on the catch and throw game. Just put the ball inside the Squap mitt and open your hands to launch the ball into the air, at the wall, or to your friend. This is bound to be a hit with your kids and their friends.
There, you have it. These are some of our favorite summer toys! Happy playing!
